If you lose anything because it doesn’t have your name on it and you left it alone don’t come crying to us.
I’m already hungry for tasty treats, when are we eating?
“All you can consume” soda, water, coffee, tea, candy and snacks are included with the price of admission and available throughout the entire event. All guests also receive a sub sandwich buffet around lunch time and a pizza buffet around dinner time. All food and drink must be consumed in the Café.
Can I bring my own food or drinks?
No, due to potential problems with people bringing in prohibited substances, we are not allowing any outside food or drinks at CroomsCon. If you have specific diet restrictions please see or email us at Donnancn@myscps.us before the event to discuss them.
What is the dress code for the evening?
CroomsCon is a non-uniform event, however, standard Seminole County Public Schools dress code will apply for the event. Wear something comfortable and school appropriate. Did I mention that we are selling t-shirts?
I am an irresponsible teenage person and I plan on making out with my girlfriend or boyfriend, is that cool?
We have a strict policy for public displays of affection. Infractions will result in banishment to the staff holding zone for the remainder of the event, or until your guardian comes to pick you up. The staff holding zone is not a fun place to be. There are no ticket refunds.
I am an irresponsible teenage person and I’m going to try to sneak out of the designated CroomsCon area or remove my provided wristband for some dumb reason, is that cool?
There is a zero tolerance policy for sneaking out of the designated CroomsCon area. Additionally, any person found without a wristband once admitted to the area will result in banishment to the staff holding zone for the remainder of the event. If your wrist band breaks off you must bring it to the attention of a staff member immediately and they will issue a new one.
I am an irresponsible teenage person and I like to make other people miserable by trash-talking and name calling when I win or lose, is that cool?
No, we all want CroomsCon to be a great event for everyone involved. Everyone should be able to have a positive gaming experience. A little competitive banter is fine, but unsportsmanlike conduct or slurs will not be tolerated.
I don’t have a cell phone, what happens if my parent wants to contact me?
Guardians can call the front desk at 407-320-5750 and then dial 0 for an operator. We will have someone near the phone at all times.
What time should I be picked up?
Guests can be picked up by their guardians at any time during the event, but you must be picked up by 9:20 pm. Upon leaving CroomsCon you will not be readmitted.
I would love one of those snazzy CroomsCon t-shirts! Please take my money!
That’s fantastic! Go to the t-shirt page to download and print out the order form. Bring your money and shirt size to Mr. Donnan and he’ll take your order. If we have shirts left you will get one!
I want to help out, but I’m not on staff this year, should I just go cry in the corner?
Don’t cry, you can still help! Join the CroomsCon Hero Program and let CroomsCon guests use your gaming gear during the event! By helping make CroomsCon bigger and better you get perks like:
Extra raffle tickets
Early entry to CroomsCon
Free CroomsCon T-shirt! (while supplies last)
Where does all of the millions of moneys from ticket sales go to? Mr. Donnan’s sweet ride?
You have obviously not seen Mr. Donnan’s car… Every dime that isn’t spent on CroomsCon expenses (food, drinks, prizes, paper plates, signage, etc…..) will be donated to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital through the Children’s Miracle Network. Mr. Donnan, the student staff, and chaperones are 100% volunteers. We currently pay for police presence, cafeteria help and janitorial help. The CroomsCon account is an internal school account and over the past 7 years we have donated over $66,000 in the name of Crooms CroomsCon to charity.
Why do we give the money away? Does Mr. Donnan hate the all of the moneys?
Mr. Donnan feels passionately about the process of giving back to the community without having an alterior motive. Donating this money is a chance for the students of Crooms Academy to do something great for someone else.
Why do we give the money to the Arnold Palmer Children’s Miracle Network Hospital? Let me tell you about (INSERT TOTALLY REASONABLE CHARITY NAME HERE).
In the past we have donated money to help ease the suffering of children in hospitals but we wanted to do more to END future suffering by helping to eliminate the diseases that are the cause. The Children’s Miracle Network has consistently received 4/4 star ratings from charity navigator.org
Arnold Palmer Medical Center is the local wing of the Children’s Miracle Network. Our community dollars stay near the community that it supports.
I know an adult who would love to help out as a chaperone! How do they do that?
All chaperones MUST be a registered dividend through the Seminole County Public School system before they can be a chaperone. The SCPS dividend website is here. Once registered as a SCPS dividend, the adult should check out the Chaperone Page where they can fill out a google form that will allow then to register for Crooms CroomsCon.
Chaperones also get all they care to eat and drink and may also enjoy the multiplayer gaming madness, if they wish.
Chaperones who donate 7 hours or more of their time to the event may bring a student to the event for free!
Chaperones who donate 8 hours or more also get a free CroomsCon t-shirt. (inventory permitting)
Can I invite a guest?
Is that person in 7th – 12th grade? Are there tickets left? If those two answers are yes, then YES!
Is that person a responsible adult over 21 with a driver’s license? If so they can be a chaperone! Have them check out the chaperone page for more information!

What about COVID?
This year we are following the SCPS school board policy and having our event in-person, while encouraging proper hand hygiene and regular cleaning of high contact surfaces.
